Programs Overview

Preparing your child to succeed in school is at the core of our curriculum. Choose your child’s age to learn more.

Our program is based on the philosophy that children learn best by doing. Our hands-on approach includes a balance of child-initiated and teacher-directed activities each day. It is our goal to address the need of the whole child in a way that makes learning fun and meaningful. All learning activities are age appropriate that stimulates brain development, language development, promotes small and large muscle coordination, and much more.

Specialized Programs

INFANTS

Infants may enroll as early as six weeks. Infants are given stimulating toys and activities to experiment with at their own pace. Our teachers use various forms of entertainment such as finger puppets, storytelling, and directional songs and games, which serve to acquaint them with the function needed for classroom participation at an older age.

Our infant rooms are warm and homelike to help the children feel comfortable and secure. Caregivers meet infants' needs consistently, promptly and lovingly in response to each child's individual schedule. Caregivers encourage infants to use their senses and their rapidly growing physical and cognitive skills to explore their environment.

Our caregivers make sure parents are informed daily about their child's growth and development. Our infants' needs are monitored constantly, and all feedings, diaper changes and other activities are recorded for the parents' review.

PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Children ages two through five years continue working with the alphabet, phonics, numbers, and lessons in safety, health, manners, etc.

Our goal is to help equip your child for the challenges ahead. Supporting each child during this time in her life helps to instill a sense of confidence and accomplishment while basking in her daily successes.

Preschoolers are continuing their learning adventure with a desire to do things on their own, and make new discoveries. That’s why we’ve designed our Preschool Program to fulfill the preschool mind.

Before & After School Care

Our before- and after-school program was developed to meet the growing educational needs of children. We understand that for many busy and working parents, it’s challenging to find an enriching atmosphere for before and after school care.

We have a program, for Before and After-School Care and School Holidays. We are excited to offer homework help, supervised activities, and child-directed play to peak your child's interests in a safe, friendly and clean environment.

Our  Before and After-School Children Program focuses on making learning fun. We welcome the Before and After-School Kids to an environment with plenty of opportunities to unwind and just enjoy being a kid!

To make it easy for your family's schedule, we provide transportation to and from neighborhood schools.

nutritious meals & snacks

The Childrens First Pre - School serves USDA approved meals to all their children. The National School Lunch Act mandates that school meals "safeguard the health and well-being of the Nation's children".

Participating schools must serve lunches that are consistent with the applicable recommendations of the most recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans including: eat a variety of foods; choose a diet with plenty of grain products, vegetables and fruits; choose a diet moderate in sugars and salt; and choose a diet with 30% or less of calories from fat and less than 10% of calories from saturated fat.

In addition, lunches must provide at least 1/3 of the daily Recommended Dietary Allowances for protein, iron, calcium, and vitamins A and C. The choice of what specific foods are served and how they are prepared and presented are made by local schools.

TODDLERS

Children at the age of 15 months through 24 months are introduced to the alphabet, phonics, numbers, and lessons in safety, health, manners, etc.

An appropriate program for toddlers provides a balance between a toddler's conflicting needs for security and for independence. Caregivers respond to toddlers' struggles to become independent by allowing them to make simple choices and to do things for themselves. Treating each child as an individual is critical at this time in their lives, and encouraging independence helps each child start developing his or her full creative potential.

universal pre-k program

The Childrens First Pre - School is a part of the Universal Pre-K program.

It is important for a child care center to be part of the Universal Pre-K program because traditionally prekindergarten has been viewed as an educational experience while child care has been perceived as caregiving to enable parents to work.

If you are interested in knowing if your child is ready to participate in the Universal Pre-K program you must consider the following:

  • child's ability to adjust to the demands of school

  • Basic abilities and knowledge in language and math

  • Be able to interact with others positively, pay attention, remember lessons taught, follow a teacher's directions, finish tasks, and practice independently what they have learned.

  • they must be able to control their emotions.

  • A child's readiness for school also depends on their physical health

Through our programs we teach children the skills they need to learn to read, do math, make progress in science and other areas, as well as, begin to understand the world and how it works. This helps children become more familiar with books, words and ways to use language, numbers and problem-solving strategies.

Preschool programs add to the social skills children need to get the most out of school - for instance, being able to pay attention in class and how to interact with peers. Preschool programs also offer an early opportunity to identify and begin addressing special needs.
